Meet the Pastors
Lead Pastor- Rod Smith
Rev. Rodney E. Smith was from Saint Louis , Missouri. He attended school at Normandy Senior, Normandy Missouri and later received BA at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He started MA degree at Bethel College, Saint Paul, Minnesota. He accepted a relationship with our Lord and Savior, water baptized and Holy Spirit baptism at New Covenant Fellowship church, MO. on November 1975. Now living in Philly area as Lead Pastor in The Lord's Cup Deaf Assembly.
Associate Pastor- JoAnn Smith
Pastor JoAnn Smith was born and raised in Hawaii. Accepted Jesus as her personal Savior when She was nine, filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2) and called into the ministry at 14 years old. Completed her BA (in Pastoral Studies and Christian Ed.) in 1976. Helped pastor the Rochester Deaf Church and served as the A/G Campus Chaplain at NTID until the Fall of 1978 when she began teaching at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She completed her MA in Cross Cultural Communications in 1981 and became the A/G Chaplain at Gallaudet University until 1991. Married her sweetheart, Rod Smith, in 1984 and they adopted two Deaf sons from Estonia in 1995. Served on the full time Faculty of North Central University in several roles from 1990 - 2011. They moved to the Philly area for her to be the Department Chair for the Deaf Ministries Department at the University of Valley Forge in 2011.
Children Pastor- Bonnie Elliott
Pastor Bonnie Elliott was born and raised in Puyallup Washington, accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior by age three, later felt the calling of God in her life to be involved in Deaf Ministry. She attended at North Central University at Minneapolis, Minnesota for one year before she transfer to Valley Forge Christian College which is now called University of Valley Forge in Pennsylvania. She received her BA degree and now is a Children Pastor in Philly area.
